During the year 2005, the Spain National Institute of Consumer Affairs (Instituto Nacional de Consumo - INC) from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs awarded BIU with the official distinction of consumer protection. This seal provides a solid international consumer protection and a unique guarantee to all BIU students in Spain, Europe and worldwide. Bircham International University was the institution number 364, out of more than 50.000 corporations, that have achieved this seal.
In 2011, BIU was audited and granted the ONLINE TRUST seal which is the demonstrates the highest level of ethical commitment and responsibility towards consumers. This seal is also endorsed by the Spain National Institute of Consumer Affairs (Instituto Nacional de Consumo - INC).
The Spain Ministry of Consumer Affairs monitors BIU activity, the non-formal nature of the programs offered and the quality of instruction delivered. The applicable law is Decreto 84/2004 de 13 de Mayo (Enseñanza General).
